ABOUT ME

Michela Siuni is an award-winning multilingual researcher working at the intersection between cultural relations and culinary practices.

She is currently enrolled at SOAS (University of London) as a PhD candidate. Her research project - funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) - explores Korean food in the UK through the senses.

Michela holds a MA in Anthropology of Food from SOAS, a MA in Global Communication from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a MA in International Relations and Management from the University of Aberdeen. She also completed a specialist diploma in Public Affairs (Level 7, CIPR accredited).

She has years of experience in digital marketing, qualitative research, copyediting and public speaking across Europe and East Asia.

Her expertise revolves around cultural and culinary diplomacy, sensory studies, taste and food heritage, Korean foodways, place branding, migration, linguistics and digital media.
